SACRILEGIOUS BUFFOONERY: MARTIN COUNTY, KENTUCKY MAN IS ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF DESECRATING RELIGIOUS OBJECT

SUSPECT COMMITTED THE CRIMES WITH TWO OTHER ACCOMPLICES DURING THE EARLY PART OF LAST MONTH

BLASPHEMOUS FOOL: DEVON MORRIS, 24, OF INEZ KENTUCKY; WAS ARRESTED ON JULY 15, FOR SETTING FIRE TO A RELIGIOUS OBJECT ON A WALKING TRAIL IN MARTIN COUNTY, KY. IN EARLY JUNE 2024.

 

Law enforcement have arrested a Martin County, Kentucky man who they say was one of three people responsible for setting fire to a religious display last month in Martin County.

The incident happened on Friday, June 7, on the God’s Promise Trail in Inez, KY. Police say the trio set fire to a prayer altar on the trail.

On Monday, July 15, Chief Deputy Chris Kidd of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office arrested Devin Morris, 24, of Inez, KY., for the crime. Devin Morris is also accused of climbing a radio tower to take a camera and throw it over the hill. 

Devin Morris is now charged with the following offenses:

  • WILLFUL SET FIRE ON LAND NOT OWNED/CONTROL BY SELF, which is a Class D Felony; along with the Class A misdemeanors of:
  • *DESECRATION OF VENERATED OBJECTS 2ND DEGREE,
  • *CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2ND DEGREE,
  • *CRIMINAL TRESPASSING-2ND DEGREE.

Devon Morris was transported to and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, KY., in Johnson County, where he still remained as of Tuesday night, July 16.

The other two suspects involved in the case as of now, currently remain unidentified.
