Louisa Rotary President Harold Slone welcomed Rotarians and Guests. After the Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and Four-Way Test, President Slone asked for any Rotary Birthdays or Anniversary’s. Rotarian Brent Westmoreland was celebrating his Birthday and Rotarian Dr. Robbie Fletcher is celebrating his Anniversary this week.
Rotary President Slone then called on the Guest Speaker Mrs. Skylar (Chapman) West. Skylar West is the Three Rivers Medical Center (TRMC) Marketing Manager and also coaches girls soccer for Lawrence County Schools.
West explained a little about TRMC in her presentation.
“Its your community healthcare provider with a 90-bed acute care facility accredited by The Joint Commission,” she said. “TRMC believes in the power of people to create great care and provide essential hospital services and are proud to house an accredited Chest Pain Center and a Sleep Disorders Center.”
TRMC works hard every day to be a place of healing, caring and connection for patients and families in the community we call home, Mrs. West said. TRMC has 4 Board Certified Doctor’s in the Emergency Room. (ER) and Online Scheduling can be found on www.threeriversanytime.com.
TRMC has a main website at www.threeriversmedicalcenter.com for Referral Guide on TRMC Physicians.
Another step forward includes a new way of prepping patients for the dreaded colonoscopy.
“We have information that may make it easier to get a Colonoscopy by taking pills for prep instead of the dreaded chalk drink,” West said. “There has been an improvement on prepping for a colonoscopy. You now have a choice as long as your insurance covers the colonoscopy. If Insurance doesn’t cover this pill you can get a coupon at TRMC for a discount to use at your pharmacy.

“I had the colonoscopy procedure not long ago and you take a few pills drink lots of water wait 3 hours then take more pills and drink plenty of water. The key is keeping yourself hydrated.”
