Ronald E. Cavins, 84, of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at his home.
Ron was born June 16, 1938 to the late Ruye and Sadie (Banks) Cavins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving stepmother Pauline Hampton Doss Cavins; brothers Eugene Cavins and Ruye Cavins, Jr.; sister in law Betty Cavins; and brother in law Lee LeForrest.
Ron was a loving, Christian family man. He loved the Lord with all his heart. After graduating from Fort Gay High School, Ron entered the US Army and served his country. He later retired from BASF. Ron was a member of American Legion Post 89 and a member of the Honor Guard.
Survivors are his wife of 57 years Judy Ann Cavins; children Anna Maria (Kenny) Moore and Ronald Elmer (Lisa) Cavins, Jr.; grandchildren Shanin (Toriano) Gibson, Bryanna (Adam) Hooser, Tech Sargent Aaron (Vanessa) Moore, Janice (Stanley) Wheeler, Ronald E. Cavins, III, and Simon (Danni) Thompson; great grandchildren Abbigail, Kadance, JaVonte, LeAnna, Toriano, Jr., Meshack, Jacob, Kyle, Kiarah, Ayden, Hazel, Isabella, Nicole, James, Jackson, and Xzadyn; brothers James (Sue) Cavins and John (Rita) Cavins; sisters Linda LeForrest and Glenna (Windell) Sexton; special friends Donna Moore and Ronald Wilson; and many friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 12:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of service.
