Robert Russell (Bob) Kise, Jr. of Kise, Kentucky passed away March 29, 2019 at the age of 81.
He was born on November 22, 1937 in Lawrence County, Kentucky to the late Dorothy Nelson Kise and Robert Russell Kise Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife Muffy, his son, Bobby, his brother, Billy Gene, and his son-in-law, Keith Blair.
He is survived by his daughters, Cathi (Bob) Wells and Lisa Kise of Louisa, KY, daughter-in-law, Tammy Kise Pack, his brothers, Gary Nelson and Joel Stevens of Louisa, KY and Mike Stevens of Tomahawk, KY and special cousin, Carole Sue Fugitt. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Sara Kise Bowen of Louisa, Michael (Emily) Roberts of LaGrange, Ashley (Cory) Tharp of Russell, KY, Coty (Samantha) Roberts of Louisa, Kasey Blair of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Tyler (Allison) Blair of Somerset, KY. He is survived by great-grandchildren, Ciana and Hayden Bowen, Emma Brown and Eli Tharp, Brynn Roberts, Sarah Meade, Brayden Bowen and Mia Shekman.
Bob was a US Air Force Veteran and an employee of Kentucky Power Company until his retirement. He also served as Deputy Judge-Executive for Lawrence County, Regional Director for the Kentucky Bass Federation, was a long time member of the Louisa Bass Club and was instrumental in the creation of the Septemberfest Bass Tournament. He lived along the Levisa Fork his entire life except when he was serving his country and his love of the river never faded.
Friends may visit the family on Monday, April 1 at Young Funeral Home Chapel from 4 pm to 9 pm.
A private burial service will be held at the Kise Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
Sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He and his family have been dear friends for many years. My prayers go out to the family at this time of loss. RIP my dear friend.
