“Ring of Fire” Burning up the Stage at Garden

Mountain Movers Theatre Company’s first show of the 2024 year started off with a bang.  “Ring of Fire” was a handclapping, foot-stomping, exhilarating performance.  The cast and crew detailed the life of Johnny Cash through the unique musical performance.  The show told of Cash’s major life events, his struggles and success, as well as his redemption.  The cast performed over a dozen classic hits featuring “Folsom Prison Blues”, “Man in Black”, “Walk the Line”, “A Boy Named Sue”, and the title track “Ring of Fire”.

As the cast members traveled the highs and lows of Cash’s life, the audience went along for the journey feeling every emotion from joy to sorrow.  The cast’s performance drew you in allowing you a glimpse at not only the highlights of Cash’s life, but the hardships he faced along the way.  The performance was interactive, allowing the audience to interact with the cast throughout the show.

The cast and crew said it was an honor to bring the legend of Johnny Cash to life on the stage.  The cast included:  Tommy Bergeron, Eleni Hanson, Dave Knipp, Robert Maynard, Michael Santora, and Zachary Tate.  This performance was Tommy Bergeron’s debut performance with Mountain Movers Theatre Company (MOMO), while other cast members such as Robert Maynard, Dave Knipp, and Zachary Tate were pleased to be welcomed back MOMO’s stage.

The audience loved the show, clapping and singing along with the performers.  A few show-goers said they enjoyed it because it brought them back to their childhood, bringing back memories of the first time they heard Johnny Cash on the radio.  Other audience members said this was their second time seeing the show because it was “just that good”.

Mountain Movers Theatre Company has a great lineup of shows coming for the 2024 year.  If you didn’t make it to see “Ring of Fire” be sure to get out to there next show coming in March.
