Glenhayes, W.Va. — The Tolsia Boys basketball team lost a heartbreaker on Friday against Grace Christian 75-69 in overtime at Rebel Arena.

The Rebels led by five with under 10 seconds before two turnovers turned into a buzzer beating off balance three pointer that sent the game to OT.

The Soldiers took control in overtime and closed out the victory at the foul line.

#10 CJ Waller gets a rebound and puts it back in for two of his career high 28 points.

CJ Waller poured in a career high 28 points and pulled down 15 rebounds, Evan Ball hit 3 three pointers and finished with 12 points, Robert Evans netted 9 points, Bray Mollette and Dakota Blackburn had 6 points each, Dorian Reece added 4 points, Cole Blackburn and Brady Smith had 2 points each.

Evan Ball knocks down one of his three pointers versus Grace Christian.

Tolsia hit 3 three pointers and went 12 of 18 from the free throw line.

The Rebels will return to action on Friday with a trip to Coal Grove ( OH ) pending weather.

Cole Blackburn makes a nice move to the basket for two points.

Tolsia Head Coach Brian Stacy

COACH’S COMMENTS

“…We played up hill all night long, kept battling and battling and when we got the lead I thought we had turned the corner and then we made a couple mistakes at the end of regulation and it cost us. They did the same thing last year on us with a buzzer beater to win it and this year it tied it. Give Grace Christian credit they made us pay and got the win.”

“… Every time we went to our high low set it worked but we want to shoot three pointers and obviously we didn’t make enough. Really proud of CJ Waller, he played really well and hopefully he can continue to play the way we know he can.”
