FORT GAY, W. VA. — The wind was blowing straight out and West Carter, Ky ( 4-6 ) took advantage in a doubleheader sweep of Tolsia (6-6) Friday afternoon at Rebel field. Both teams combined to score 57 runs in 12 innings of baseball.
Tolsia 18 Mingo Central 8 ( Monday )
Tolsia fell behind 4-0 before storming back to score six runs in the second, third and fifth innings to mercy the Miners in five inning
Ray Perkins paced the Rebel bats with 3 hits, 3 runs and 1 RBI.
Cole Perry went 2-2 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI, Jared Switzer had 2 hits, 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Eric Williams had 2 hits including a double, 2 RBI and 1 run scored, Blake Conn had 2 hits, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.
Kyler Speer had 1 hit, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI, Trey Smith 1 hit, 2 runs and 1 RBI, Billy Perry 1 hit and 2 runs scored and the Rebels pounded out 15 hits.
Kyler Speer went the distance to pick up the win on the mound.
West Carter 26 Tolsia 16 ( Friday )
West Carter hit 5 home runs in a wild affair with the wind blowing straight out.
Trey Smith blasted a Home Run to go along with a bases loaded single to finish with 4 RBI, Eric Williams had 2 doubles and 3 RBIs, Ray Perkins finished with 3 hits, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI, Jared Switzer had 2 hits, 1 RBI and scored 1 run,
Austin Bailey scored 3 times, with a double and one run scored, Brandon Mollett 2 hits and 2 runs scored, Blake Conn 1 hit and 2 runs scored, Kyler Speer 1 hit, 1 RBI and 1 run scored, Billy Perry 1 hit, 2 runs and 1 RBI.
Eric Williams took the loss on the mound.
West Carter 13 Tolsia 2 ( Friday )
The Comets hit 3 more home runs to win game two in seven innings. WC scored 8 runs in the sixth inning to break open a close game.
Jared Switzer had 2 hits and scored a run, Eric Williams had 1 hit, scored a run and walked twice, Trey Smith and Wade Blackburn had 1 hit each and Brandon Mollett had an RBI.
Tolsia will host Teays Valley Christian on Monday and Belfry on Wednesday.

“… We started out slow against Mingo Central and fell behind early, but we finally started putting the bat on the ball and didn’t make many mistakes after the first few innings. We had to come back and got a good win against them.”
