PIKEVILLE, KY For the second time in three weeks Tolsia ( 4-5 ) faced a #1 team in their respective state and this time it was Pikeville ( 7-2 ) and the Panthers jumped all over the Rebels 48-8 in a steady drizzle Friday at the W. C. Hambley athletic complex.
Pikeville raced out to a 21-0 lead behind 17 seniors before Tolsia mounted a drive that ended at the Panther 2 yard line.
The Panthers scored 20 more points and led 41-0 at halftime.
With a running clock the entire second half Tolsia QB Tanner Cooley put the Rebels on the board with a nifty 44 yard scamper after picking up a couple nice blocks down field to reach the end zone. Devon Crum tacked on the two point conversion with 8 minutes to go in the game and set the final score at 47-8.
Tolsia will return to action next Friday at home in their final regular season game against Hannan for Senior night.
Pikeville will open up the Class A playoffs with a home game vs Pineville.

COACH’S COMMENTS
“… We knew what we were up against tonight. Pikeville is very good but I didn’t think some of our guys competed very well. I was disappointed in the first half and really let them have it. Our schedule has been brutal but we have no excuse for not competing and playing hard.”
“… We can’t take Hannan lightly or it might not end well for us. Our goal right now is to get to 5-5. It’s not where we want to be because I felt like we let a couple games slip through our hands.”
“… We will have a good week of practice and get ready for next Friday night.”
