RALIEGH ACES DOWN INEZ’ ONPOINT SWISH IN HOME OPENER

Inez, Ky. — The Raleigh Aces ( 2-0 ) hit 22 three pointers in a 128-84 victory to spoil the OnPoint Swish ( 1-1 ) home debut in WABA action at Martin Co. High School Saturday. 

Javonna Layfield makes a move to the basket against Raleigh. 

The Swish was led by JaVonna Layfield with 20 points, Carla Booth and Dena Jarrells hit 3 three pointers each and finished with 16 points apiece, Makayla Epps scored 9 points, Dasia Thornton 8 points, E’moni Washington 7 points, Taylor Pearson 5 points, Ri-Chiel McGraw 3 points and Kennedi Stacy chipped in with 2 points. 

Dena Jarrells drives to the basket vs the Aces on Saturday. 

Tiana Edwards hit 11 three pointers and finished with 40 points to lead the Aces, Jamie Cherry tallied 30 points, Jasmine Carter had 25 points, L’oreal Gamble added 16 points, Imani Watkins scored 13 points and Julianna Prim chipped in with 4 points. 

The two teams will meet again on Saturday July 27th in Raleigh and the Swish will stick around North Carolina and play the Greensboro Kaos on Sunday the 28th. 

Carla Booth passes to the wing during the home opener for the Swish.
