Sheriff Rick Thompson stated a drug suspect was arrested tonight in the Prichard area.
Sheriff Thompson stated Andy ‘AJ’ Maynard was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit for warrants from a previous investigation.
Maynard is charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Fentanyl and Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl after the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit collected pre-packaged Fentanyl and Digital scales. Methamphetamine and pills were additionally found on a second suspect that has already been arrested. Another person present for Maynard’s arrest was also arrested for warrants unrelated to the investigation.
Sheriff Thompson stated that Maynard was out on bond from a 2022 drug and firearm investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit.
