HOME INVADER: RONDAL LEE ENDICOTT JR., 50, OF INEZ, KY., GETS VIDEO RECORDED DURING HIS UNLAWFUL ARRIVAL AT AN ELDERLY COUPLE’S MARTIN COUNTY HOME AT 2:47 A.M. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15 (PHOTO TOP), FOLLOWED BY HIS PREPARING TO BREAK INTO THE HOME OF THE ELDERLY COUPLE EXACTLY FOUR HOURS LATER AT 6:47 A.M. RONDALL LEE ENDICOTT WAS ARRESTED BY THE MARTIN COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE AFTER HE TURNED HIMSELF IN A LITTLE OVER 24 HOURS AFTER HIS DANGEROUS BREAK-IN.

Law enforcement officials began searching for a man who broke into the home of an elderly couple while they slept early Tuesday morning, October 15, on Coldwater Road in Inez, Kentucky.

According to Chief Deputy Chris Kidd of the Martin County Sheriff Office, the couple’s daughter reported the home invasion after the fact, explaining that her parents were too terrified to call 911 during the ordeal.

“They were scared and didn’t know what to do,” according to deputy Kidd. “Their daughter showed me a Ring doorbell image of the intruder, which I immediately shared with other law enforcement.”

The suspect, who was quickly identified as Rondal Lee Endicott Jr., 50, of Inez, KY., was caught on surveillance footage arriving at the property around 2:45 A.M.

“He (Endicott) lay on their porch and appeared to fall asleep,” deputy Kidd stated. “He woke up several times and beat on the windows.”

Around 6:45 A.M., Rondal Endicott entered the house through the front door. The couple were startled awake by the sight of a shadow moving through their living room and into the back bedroom.

“The female victim said Rondal Endicott crawled into her husband’s bed and completely covered himself with the sheets and blankets,” said Kidd. “After a verbal exchange, he jumped up and ran out the front door.”

Security footage captured Rondal Endicott leaving the house, saying something unintelligible before darting across the yard and onto Coldwater Road, where he disappeared.

An arrest warrant was issued for Rondal Endicott. Deputy Chris Kidd urged anyone with information on the whereabouts  of Rondall Endicott to contact the Martin County Sheriff Office or to dial 911.

Luckily, just over 24 hours later, at around 8:00 A.M., Rondal Lee Endicott turned himself in to the Martin County Sheriff Office, where he was formally arrested by Martin County Sheriff John H. Kirk, and he was charged with:

  • CRIMINAL TRESPASSING, 1ST DEGREE. He could possibly get one or more stiffer charges via a county grand jury indictment

Criminal trespass in the first degree is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in prison, unless the offense occurs during a declared emergency as defined by KRS 39A.020 arising from a natural or man-made disaster, within the area covered by the emergency declaration, and within the area impacted by the disaster, in which case it is a Class D felony.

Rondal Lee Endicott was transported to and lodged into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville in Johnson County at 9:13 A.M., where he is being held, as his bond amount has yet to be set for at this time late morning October 16.
