Pat Fogarty’s Role to Expand with ARC Healthcare

LOUISA, Ky. (Jan. 22, 2024) — As part of their ongoing efforts to help Kentuckians impacted by substance use and mental health disease, Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) today announced that Pat Fogarty – Chief Operating Officer, ARC Healthcare – will expand his role to serve as the General Manager of Behavioral Health for ARC Healthcare. Fogarty will focus on hospital operations and other upcoming service lines ARC Healthcare plans to add as the organization grows to improve access to healthcare for all Kentuckians.

“When I joined ARC in 2020, I joined with the commitment to expand care and quality programming focused primarily on the disease of addiction,” said Fogarty. “We have seen a dramatic increase in mental health needs over the last few years and have adapted programs to serve this population that is often neglected. I’m excited about having the opportunity to expand our continuum of care to meet these needs of more individuals seeking help, and I personally have a renewed sense of purpose for improving mental health outcomes in Kentucky and beyond.”

As Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of Behavioral Health, Fogarty oversees ARC’s Addiction Treatment and Recovery Division, Hospital Division, clinical and medical departments, residential treatment centers, rural health, outpatient programs, revenue cycle, pharmacy, and health information systems.

Before his tenure with ARC, Forgarty worked in leadership at The Healing Place in Louisville, Ky, as well as Alkermes — a national biopharmaceutical company, where he focused on reducing barriers to the treatment system and expanding opportunities for recovery through advocacy and policy change.

“Pat’s experience and career speaks for itself,” said Matt Brown, Chief Administration Officer of ARC and President of ARC Healthcare. “He, along with the rest of our leadership team, understands the seriousness of co-occurring mental illness and other behavioral health conditions. In 2024, ARC Healthcare will bring a new era of psychiatric care to Kentucky, and there is no one better than Pat to lead those efforts.”

ARC Healthcare opened its first inpatient psychiatric hospital in Greenup County late last year. ARC is evolving to meet the needs of the communities it serves by providing the most comprehensive services to improve and sustain physical and mental health. ARC will continue focusing on delivering comprehensive services in addition to substance use disorder treatment in Kentucky and beyond.

The organization is also expected to open its first out-of-state facilities – in Virginia and Ohio – within the next year.
