LONDON, Ky. — A Paintsville doctor who has been facing drug and fraud charges for the past 15 months has been found not guilty of all charges.
A federal jury began deliberating the case of Dr. Loey Kousa just before noon on Tuesday. They retired Tuesday night and returned Wednesday morning, delivering a not guilty verdict.
Kousa had been charged with five counts of unlawful drug distribution, two counts of health care fraud and two counts of lying in connection with health care benefits.
Kousa left the courtroom freed from all bond conditions he had been under since his indictment.
