A crash in Johnson County between a civilian and a Pike County Sheriff’s deputy on U.S. 23 near Hilltop Road resulted in one fatality, according to Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy Tim Clark, who is performing an ongoing investigation into the collision.
According to Clark, the driver of a Toyota Camry, who Clark reported was declared dead after the crash, was performing a U-turn across the median when the Camry collided with the patrol vehicle, resulting in three individuals, including the passenger of the red Toyota Camry and two Pike County Sheriff’s deputies, being injured.
“I received a report of a two-vehicle collision here on 23, and was advised it was a pretty bad wreck,” Clark said. “(The) fire department was on the scene while I was on my way … and advised they had one person they were doing CPR on.”
