Olive Hill Man Enters Home in Grayson, Shot Dead, No Arrests Yet

Kentucky State Police Conducts Death Investigation in Carter County

GRAYSON, Ky. (December 19, 2024) – On December 18, 2024, at approximately 9:04 PM, the Kentucky State Police received a call reporting a shooting incident in the Grayson community of Carter County.

In response to the emergency, the Kentucky State Police, alongside the Grayson City Police Department, arrived at a residence located on Damron Mayo Road. Upon their arrival, law enforcement officials discovered an individual who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

Initial investigations indicated that Joseph Greenhill, a 49-year-old resident of Olive Hill, had entered the aforementioned residence and suffered fatal injuries. The Carter County Coroner’s Office declared him deceased at the scene. At this point, no one has been charged, and this case will be submitted for review to the Carter County Grand Jury for further legal proceedings.
