Changes to THE COVE at Lawrence County Park, Yatesville Lake could be coming soon.
Legend Outfitters is under new management and they showed up with big plans for approval by the Fiscal Court on Jan. 29. Their new plans for THE COVE, which is part of Yatesville Lake, is one of the newest attractions just down Boy Scout Rd off the Fallsburg side of the lake, on 606 Beech Rd. Louisa Ky.
Crystal Alley and Suze New were at court representing Legend Outfitters and their plans for upgrades include the parking lot, restroom repairs, widening the shelter and bringing the concession stand up to code. They are working with the Corp of Engineers on developing the land but need the approval of the court to update the concession stand. (SEE SLIDESHOW BELOW)
All repairs for THE COVE will be paid for by Crystal Ally but, The Outpost Store & Mini Golf at Wilderness Rd. will return to Lawrence County.
Lawrence Co. Judge Executive Philip Carter decided to carry the repair and replace proposal approval over to the next meeting Feb. 19th so County Attorney Michael Hogan can have ample time to review the contract.
The Cove has become a favorite thing to do during the summer as they host various events from kayaking trips to watching the movie Jaws while floating in the water. They intend on bringing in more customers to come to the beautiful Yatesville Lake “Cove” by making it more accessible for everyone.
