Drug addiction nearly killed Louisa woman, but she has 3 years clean and sober…and a new job
LIFE WITHOUT DRUGS IS POSSIBLE…
When I first saw the name Tane’ I recognized it from past police stories but I kept reading and listening and wondering if my opionion had been correct for the nearly four decades I’ve been in the media business. That is the fact that people HAVE to be rescued from addictive behaviourS. After all, these are himan beings that have made some really bad choices but they DO exist, why not help them back up instead of pushing them back down?
So I decided to give Tane’ Woods a new chance. Not much money, pretty tough work sometimes, but something she can sink her teeth in and have a new chance.
Here is what she wrote on Facebook.
“…I don’t like putting this on facebook anymore, for a few reasons, but I am going to anyway… as of March 15 I have 3 whole years of sobriety… I don’t use clean and sober simply because I am not in NA and I still have a drink on special occasions, and I do because I’ve never had a problem with alcohol. Basically I celebrate 3 years of living the normal life that I should have always lived. Therefore, I don’t want this to be about me. I want other people like me to know that LIFE WITHOUT DRUGS IS POSSIBLE.
Without crutches such as soboxin or anything. There IS hope. Not only can you get clean..but there’s more. For the first year of my sobriety I lived in Western Kentucky where the community welcomed me with open arms and didn’t make me feel like trash. I was never trash I was just broken. I never dreamed that I would be able to move back home and succeed because of my reputation. Now I live in my hometown with my family, and I was blessed enough to get a job writing for the Levisa Lazer. I am now on the other side of the story, writing for the Circuit Court hearings. I just feel blessed, and if anyone ever needs someone to talk to that’s been there..I’m here. Please don’t give up before the miracle happens…”
The Lazer staff and management is proud to welcome Tane’ to our ‘Lazer Bunch’ and will encourage and help her along life’s narrow way the best we know how. –Mark
