January, 1931 — April, 2025

With a heart full of memories and a spirit brimming with love, we celebrate the life of Mildred Doris Delong. Born to James and Evelyn Gupton on January 17, 1931, in Neptune, Tennessee, Mildred was a loving, compassionate, and dedicated woman who held her family and her faith above all else.

Mildred spent her life in the service of others, turning the ordinary into extraordinary through her work as a homemaker. Her home in Louisa, Kentucky, was a beacon of warmth and love, where she gave tirelessly and lived fully. Mildred’s faith was a guiding light throughout her life. As an active member of the Louisa Free Will Baptist Church, she found joy and comfort in her spiritual journey. She embodied the verse from Proverbs 31:26, “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” Throughout her life, Mildred demonstrated this kindness and wisdom to all who had the good fortune to know her.

Mildred is survived by her children Patricia (Drewey) Keene, Cheryl Delong, and Danny (Debra) Delong; grandchildren Corey, Tierney, Andy, Travis, Brandon, Chris and Rebecca; great grandchildren Addison, Kendall, Parker, Hannah, Keeton, Maelyn, and Beverly; and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Evelyn Gupton, and her beloved spouse, Warren Delong.

All are invited to remember and celebrate Mildred’s life during visitation at Young Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 PM.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Delong and her family.
