LOUISA — Primary elections in Kentucky are mostly Republican party contests since President Obama doomed the Democrats with statements made against the coal and oil business interests especially in eastern and western Kentucky.

The result has been the formerly blue state switching solid red.

In the General November elections, very few Democrats are favored.

Locally the General election will include only a few contested races in Lawrence County with a contest for coroner and  two for magistrate, and one the Louisa, mayor. Exactly six Louisa citizens are on the ballot as winners because that’s the number of council seats available.

But there’s only one mayor with a new face challenging three term incumbent mayor Harold Slone. Corey Vanhoose is running for the city’s top job.

Here is the November General non partisan ballot which will be voted  on in November. No other candidates can register.

Can you inquire about and publish who are the PAID members of the Louisa Fire Department?
