The current Martin County Grand Jury met today, October 1 and returned five indictments mostly on drug related charges and one assault charge on a Martin County Sheriff’s Deputy, David Adams that took place on August 8,2020.
Deputy Adams was responding to a domestic call that he was told involved weapons. According to a court document Deputy Adams located Joseph Stevens in bed covered up with his arms underneath the blankets. After several commands to uncover and put his arms in the arms he made his way into the bedroom to uncover Mr. Stevens. When the Deputy grabbed the subject, he started swinging his arms and striking the deputy several time in the chest with his elbow in attempt to pull away. Deputy Adams was able to get him cuffed and into custody.
Commonwealth vs. Joseph Stevens
The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 28, 2020 in Martin County Kentucky the above-named defendant:
- Joseph Stevens committed the offense of assault in the third degree by knowingly and unlawfully physically assaulting or attempting to assault Deputy David Adams with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department, while acting in the capacity of his office.
Commonwealth vs. Cheryl Delong
The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 11, 2020 in Martin County Kentucky the above-named defendant:
- Cheryl Delong acting alone or in complicity with Christopher Mollette committed the offense of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree (Heroin) by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of eight individual baggies of Methamphetamine, $105.00 in cash, six preloaded syringes, with the intent to traffic in that Methamphetamine, or by trafficking in that said Methamphetamine.
- Cheryl Delong acting alone or in complicity with Christopher Mollette committed the offense of possession of Marijuana by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Marijuana.
Commonwealth vs. Ronda Salmons
The Grand Jury charges that on or before September 4, 2020 in Martin County Kentucky the above-named defendant:
- Ronda Salmons acting alone or in complicity with Kenny Crum committed the offense of trafficking in a controlled substance in the second degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, $492.00 in cash with the intent to traffic in that Schedule III controlled substance, Buprenorphine.

The Grand Jury charges that on or before September 4, 2020 in Martin County Kentucky the above-named defendant:
- Kenny Crum acting alone or in complicity with Ronda Salmons committed the offense of trafficking in a controlled substance in the second degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, $492.00 in cash with the intent to traffic in that Schedule III controlled substance, Buprenorphine.
Commonwealth vs. Kristin Slone
The Grand Jury charges that on or before March 2, 2020 in Martin County Kentucky the above-named defendant:
- Kristin Slone committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a scheduled controlled substance, Heroin.
- Kristin Slone committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a scheduled controlled substance, Methamphetamine.
- Kristin Slone committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the second degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a scheduled controlled substance, Suboxone.
- Kristin Slone committed the offense of possession/drug paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of two pipes and a syringe.
