Blake C. Moore, 20, of Maysville, Kentucky ;was arrested on November 8, 2020, at 6:24 A.M.,by Sheriff John H. Kirk, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE.
According to the arrest report citation, Sheriff Kirk wrote that Blake Moore had wrecked his car, that Moore’s car was on its top in the creek and that Moore was sitting on top of his car. Sheriff Kirk wrote that Blake Moore admitted to drinking two beers and a half a bottle of mad dog. Sheriff Kirk finished up the report by stating Blake Moore had slurred speech and glassy eyes, and that Blake Moore had a strong odor of alcohol about him.
Gary L. Gamble Jr., 41, of Inez,Kentucky; was arrested in Johnson County, on November 9, 2020,at 12:27 A.M.,by deputy Jason Arms, of the Johnson County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST DEGREE (MOTOR VEHICLE),
• FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST DEGREE (ON FOOT),
• WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER,

James Moore, 52, of Lowmansville, Kentucky; was arrested on November 11, 2020, at 3:01 P.M., by deputy William Tyler Lafferty, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, & was charged with:
• DRIVING ON DUI SUSPENDED LICENSE -1ST OFFENSE,
• FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE,
• NO REGISTRATION PLATES,
• NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT,
• FAILURE TO REGISTER TRANSFER OF MOTOR VEHICLE,

Ronald C. Crum, 42, of Tomahawk, Kentucky; was arrested on November 12, 2020, at 4:31 P.M., by deputy William Tyler Lafferty, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, & was charged with:
• SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.
Christopher Adkins, 31, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on November 12, 2020, at 8:33 P.M., by deputy David Adams, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• RECKLESS DRIVING,
• IMPROPER REGISTRATION PLATE,
• NO REGISTRATION PLATES,
• NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT,
• FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD,
• FAILURE TO REGISTER TRANSFER OF MOTOR VEHICLE,
• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL .08 (189A.010(1A) – 1ST OFFENSE,
• LICENSE TO BE IN POSSESSION.
According to the arrest report citation, deputy David Adams wrote that he did a traffic stop on Christopher Adkins for driving off the road and nearly hitting a parked car in Warfield. Deputy Adams wrote further on that Christopher Adkins had a strong odor of alcohol about him and slurred speech, and could not follow instructions during the field sobriety test.
Stephen M. Hammonds, 31, of Beauty, Kentucky; was arrested on November 12, 2020, at 8:39 P.M., by deputy David Adams, of the Martin County Sheriff Department,and was charged with:
• ALCOHOL INTOXICATION IN A PUBLIC PLACE (1ST & 2ND OFFENSE).
Paul J. Wellman, 26, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on November 13, 2020, at 5:10 A.M.,by the Martin County Sheriff Department,& was charged with:
• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3RD DEGREE,
• ALCOHOL INTOXICATION IN A PUBLIC PLACE (1ST & 2ND OFFENSE).
Mary Lou Setser, 49, of Inez,Kentucky; was arrested on November 13, 2020, at 4:02 P.M., by Constable James Bradford Preece, of the Martin County Constable Office-District 4, and was charged with:
• ASSAULT, 3RD DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER OR PROBATION OFFICER,
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/ POSSESS.
Robert Meade, 69, of Inez,Kentucky; was arrested on November 14, 2020, at 12:30 A.M., by Constable James Bradford Preece, of the Martin County Constable Office-District 4, and was charged with:
• TERRORISTIC THREATENING, 3RD DEGREE.
Adam D, Rohr, 31, of Boones Camp, Kentucky; was arrested on November 14, 2020, at 11:05 P.M., by deputy David Adams, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with,via three grand jury indictments:
• ASSAULT, 1ST DEGREE – DOMESTIC VIOLENCE,
• BAIL JUMPING 1ST DEGREE (2 SEPARATE CHARGES COUNTS),
• SERVING THREE BENCH WARRANTS FOR COURT.
James T. Bailey, 25, of Beckley, West Virginia; was arrested on November 15, 2020, at 8:20 P.M.,by Constable Tony Preece, of the Martin County Constable Office-District 2, & was charged with:
• PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL),
• DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 2ND DEGREE.
In the arrest report citation, Constable Tony Preece wrote that James Bailey was out in the middle of the road screaming, and that James Bailey was trying to get cars to stop.

Leon Smith, 54, of Wheelersburg,Ohio; was arrested on November 15, 2020, by the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • SERVING TWO BENCH WARRANTS FOR COURT.
Joseph Chris Jude, 39, of Lovely, Kentucky; was arrested on November 16, 2020, at 12:42 P.M., by deputy William Tyler Lafferty, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED, • PRESCRIPTION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE NOT PROPER CONTAINER 1ST OFFENSE.
According to the arrest citation report, Deputy Lafferty wrote that he received a call about a female subject possibly selling drugs. Deputy Lafferty continued in the report that he found Joseph Christopher Jude and the female subject sitting in Mr. Jude’s car. When deputy Lafferty pulled in next to Joseph Jude’s car, both Joseph Jude and the female subject got out of the car and walked separate ways. Deputy Lafferty searched Joseph Jude and found one gabapentin pill in Joseph Jude’s front pocket, to which then Mr. Jude told deputy Lafferty that he found the pill “laying on a table.”
Donald Ray Cornette, 50, of Tomahawk,Kentucky; was arrested on November 16, 2020, at 6:17 P.M.,by deputy William Tyler Lafferty, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, & was charged with:
• ALCOHOL INTOXICATION IN A PUBLIC PLACE (1ST & 2ND OFFENSE),
• DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 2ND DEGREE.
In the arrest citation report, deputy Lafferty wrote that he received a call about a male subject in the middle of the road, who was bleeding from his head, and that the male subject was screaming and cussing.
Deputy Lafferty continued on in the report that “upon arrival, he spoke with the male subject, identified as Donald Ray Cornette, and deputy Lafferty asked Cornette what was wrong.” Mr. Cornette told deputy Lafferty that he did not have to tell him a damn thing,” deputy Lafferty wrote. Deputy Lafferty said that Donald Cornette tried to get in his vehicle several times, with deputy Lafferty telling Mr. Cornette ‘no.’
Deputy Lafferty finished up in the report with that Donald Cornette had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person, and that Mr. Cornette told deputy Lafferty he had taken a couple of shots to drink.
Timothy McCurley, 32, of Louisville,Kentucky; was arrested on November 17, 2020, at 3:08 P.M., by deputy William Tyler Lafferty, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, & was charged with: • POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA.
According to the arrest citation report, deputy Lafferty conducted a traffic stop on Timothy McCurley because of his vehicle having dead temporary tags. Deputy Lafferty asked Timothy McCurley if there was anything in the car that should not be there; and that Mr. McCurley gave consent to deputy Lafferty to search his vehicle.
Deputy wrote at the end of the report that he found 17 grams of marijuana in Timothy McCurley’s book bag.
Benjamin Lewis Shapaka, 38,of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested on November 17, 2020, at 3:09 P.M., by Sheriff John H. Kirk, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• THEFT BY DECEPTION-INCLUDE COLD CHECKS UNDER/$10,000.
John P. Jones, 34, of Matewan, West Virginia; was arrested on November 19, 2020,at 3:02 P.M.,by deputy William Tyler Lafferty,of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE,1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE),
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED,
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
In the arrest citation report, deputy Lafferty wrote that while he was assisting Sheriff Kirk on a traffic stop, deputy Lafferty found a small glass container that John Jones told deputy Lafferty was meth in Mr. Jones right front pocket. Deputy Lafferty wrote at the end of the report that one glass pipe was located in John Jones vehicle’s glove department, along with three one-half Neurontin pills.
Dolly Miller, 54, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on November 19, 2020, at 6:00 P.M.,by the Martin County Sheriff Department,& was charged with:
• ASSAULT, 2ND DEGREE.
Robin Grace, 50, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on November 20, 2020, at 7:30 P.M.,by deputy David Adams,of the Martin County Sheriff Department,& was charged with:
• ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY.
Angela Vance, 45, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on November 20,2020, at 8:00 P.M.,by deputy David Adams,of the Martin County Sheriff Department,& was charged with:
• ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY.
Christopher Lee Maynard, 37, of Lovely,Kentucky; was arrested on November 20, 2020, at 9:00 P.M.,by Constable James Bradford Preece, of the Martin County Constable Office-District 4, and was charged with:
• ALCOHOL INTOXICATION IN A PUBLIC PLACE 3RD OR > IN 12 MONTHS,
• FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 2ND DEGREE (ON FOOT), • MENACING.
According to the arrest citation report, Constable James Bradford Preece wrote that he received several complaints that a male subject was in an altercation with a couple of males at his residence. Constable Preece wrote that the male subject had “hit the hill” before Preece arrived. Constable Preece wrote that he received a second call and that he found the male subject, identified as Christopher Lee Maynard hiding over the hill.
Constable Preece continued in the report that as he was attempting to cuff Christopher Maynard, he pulled away from Constable Preece. Deputy David Adams came to the assistance of Constable Preece, where soon upon deputy Adams located Christopher Maynard across the road and handcuffed Mr. Maynard.
Ashton Paige Kinney, 23, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on November 21, 2020, at 12:06 A.M.,by deputy David Adams,of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• FAILURE TO APPEAR, CITATION FOR MISDEMEANOR.
Billy Erlewine, 18, of Logan, West Virginia; was arrested on November 22, 2020, at 2:56 A.M.,by deputy David Adams,of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• SPEEDING 26 MPH OR > SPEED LIMIT,
• RECKLESS DRIVING,
• OPERATING VEHICLE WITH EXPIRED OPERATORS LICENSE,
• LICENSE TO BE IN POSSESSION,
• FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD.
According to the arrest citation report, deputy David Adams wrote that he conducted a traffic stop to pull over Billy Erlewine because deputy Adams had radar lock scanned Billy Erlewine going 98 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Ollie K. Jarvis, 53, of Inez,Kentucky; was arrested on November 24, 2020, at 1:38 P.M.,by the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
