WE HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH GETTING PHOTOS IN JUNE BECAUSE OF A CHANGE IN REPORTING BY SOME MARTIN COUNTY OFFICIALS. THERE ARE AS MANY AS 40 PICS AND REPORTS WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR.
HERE ARE THE NAMES & CHARGES OF THE LATEST FIFTEEN PEOPLE ARRESTED AND WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN MARTIN COUNTY OR ANY MARTIN COUNTY CITIZENS ARRESTED BY A POLICE AGENCY IN NEIGHBORING JURISDICTIONS:
Rodney M. Estep, 34, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on July 1, 2020, at 1:05 A.M., by deputy David Adams, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.
Angela Slone Vance, 44, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on July 1, 2020, at 10:45 A.M., by Sheriff John. H. Kirk, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• MENACING,
• TERRORISTIC THREATENING, 3RD DEGREE,
• DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 2ND DEGREE.
According to the arrest report, Sheriff Kirk stated that Angela Slone Vance had a baseball bat in her hand, and was waving it around, threatening to bust his head with the baseball bat, and that she was cursing and swung the baseball bat, and threatening to kill people with the baseball bat.
Steve Allen Marcum, 51, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on July 1, 2020, at 7:21 P.M., by Constable Bradford Preece, of the Martin County Constable Office-District 4, and was charged with:
• DRIVING ON DUI SUSPENDED LICENSE -1ST OFFENSE,
• IMPROPER REGISTRATION PLATE,
• FAILURE OF NON-OWNER OPERATOR TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE, • FAILURE TO REGISTER TRANSFER OF MOTOR VEHICLE.
Glenna Carol Parsley, 57, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on July 2, 2020, at 1:34 P.M., by deputy Savannah Sisco, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED.
According to the arrest report, deputy Savannah Sisco stated that Glenna Carol Parsley came to Martin County Court and she had five Gabapentin pills in a key chain container.
Melissa Jacqueline Nichols, 43, of Warfield, Kentucky; was arrested on July 2, 2020, at 5:03 P.M., by Sheriff John. H. Kirk,of the Martin County Sheriff Department,& was charged with:
• PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL).
According to the arrest report, Sheriff Kirk stated that he arrested Jacqueline Nichols at the Warfield Dairy Bar after she failed a sobriety test and that she admitted to him that she had taken Suboxone and Neurontin.
Phillip Johnson, 56, of Inez,Kentucky; was arrested on July 3, 2020, at 12:25 P.M., by deputy William Tyler Lafferty, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.
Bryan E. Mounts, 32, of Warfield, Kentucky; was arrested on July 3, 2020, at 3:30 P.M., by deputy William Tyler Lafferty, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE,
• FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY,1ST OFFENSE,
• FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD,
• NO REGISTRATION PLATES,
• NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT,
• FAILURE TO REGISTER TRANSFER OF MOTOR VEHICLE.
Bryan K. Bowens, 33, of Pilgrim, Kentucky; was arrested on July 3, 2020, at 10:40 P.M., by deputy David Adams, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• SERVING TWO BENCH WARRANTS FOR COURT.
Christopher Lynn Maynard, 34, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on July 3, 2020, at 11:53 P.M., by deputy David Adams, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with, via a grand jury indictment:
• ASSAULT, 1ST DEGREE – DOMESTIC VIOLENCE,
• PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER I.
Casey J. Spence, 22, of Tomahawk, Kentucky; was arrested in Johnson County, Ky., on July 5, 2020, at 8:32 P.M., by Captain Jonathan Holbrook, of the Paintsville Police Department,& was charged with:
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS,
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (DRUG UNSPECIFIED),
• TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE,
• WANTON ENDANGERMENT-2ND DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER.
Carlos Stumbo, 28, of Dunlow, West Virginia; was arrested on July 6,2020,at 11:34 A.M., by Constable Bradford Preece, of the Martin County Constable Office-District 4, and was charged with, via a grand jury indictment:
• OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE,
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE),
• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (< 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE),
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
Michael Wayne Farley, 42, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on July 6, 2020,at 6:19 P.M., by deputy William Tyler Lafferty, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL),
• ASSAULT 3RD DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER OR PROBATION OFFICER,
• RESISTING ARREST,
• MENACING
According to the arrest report, deputy Lafferty stated that he and the sheriff’s department received a report call that Michael Wayne Farley was in a motel room and was refusing to leave. When the motel staff returned the room three hours past the checkout, Michael Wayne Farley had put chairs in front of the door and locked the top lock.
“When I arrived, the subject (Farley) had fallen and hit his head and he not able to open the door,” deputy Lafferty wrote in the report. “The subject seemed to be extremely under the influence of some type of drug. Myself and Sheriff John Kirk made entry to the subject’s room, but he had then locked himself inside the bathroom.”
Michael Wayne Farley was asked several times to open the door.
“Every time we got the door open a little, he (Farley) would shove it back closed,” deputy Lafferty further wrote in the arrest report. “There was significant damage to the bathroom. The subject (Farley) had actually shattered the toilet, which had caused a severe leak. We four of us all ended up having to use pepper spray to get him to exit the bathroom, and after he fought to struggle with us, we were able to subdue him into custody.”
Brandon L. Hall, 24, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on July 7, 2020, at 10:21 A.M., by Sheriff John. H. Kirk, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, & was charged with:
• FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST DEGREE (MOTOR VEHICLE),
• WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE.
Courtney Moore, 25, of Pilgrim,Kentucky; was arrested on July 7, 2020, at 5:38 P.M. by a deputy of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE,
• FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE,
• FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD,
• NO REGISTRATION PLATES,
• NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT,
• REGULATION & TITLE REQUIREMENTS VEHICLE NOT OPERATING ON HIGHWAY.
Mitchell L. Moore, 49, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on July 9, 2020, at 12:28 P.M., by deputy William Tyler Lafferty, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.
