SUSPECT ATTACKED MAN WHO CAME TO AID OF SUSPECT’S WIFE WHO WAS BEING ASSAULTED INSIDE THE COUPLE’S HOME

After entering the home, the responding troopers said they found blood throughout the home, including a knife stuck in a table.

According to the arrest citation, troopers discovered through their investigation and after interviewing witnesses, they determined that Rickie Wayne Romine, 52, of Salyersville, KY., had gotten into a physical altercation with his wife.

The wife told the troopers that she had sore ribs as well as marks on her arm.

Another man came to the house to help the woman after he told troopers that he had heard her calling for help.

After the man entered the home, he was reportedly stabbed by Rickie Romine near his back.

After his arrest by KSP Post 9 trooper Billy Hall, he wrote in the conclusion of the arrest citation that Rickie Romine stated multiple times that when he got out of jail, he would kill his wife within three hours of getting out of jail.

Rickie Romine was charged with: • ASSAULT, 1ST DEGREE, along with: • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY. Rickie Romine also faces a felony charge of: •TERRORISTIC THREATENING, 1ST DEGREE

Rickie Romine was transported to and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville in Johnson County, where he is currently being held on no bond allowed.
