By Susan Salyer
On Tuesday August 9, 2022 at 11AM The 123 Cafe had their Grand Opening and Ribbon cutting ceremony. Among the five owners of Louisa 123 CAFE are Andy Lin and Paul D Pelphrey.
Locals have been awaiting the opening for months to try the Japanese delicacies. Cars blocked the entrance for quite some time.
City and County Officials attending were LC Judge Executive Phil Carter, Deputy Judge Vince Doty, LC Tourism Chairman Wes Kingsmore, Mayor Harold Slone, State Rep. Scott Sharp, and LC Court Clerk Chris Jobe. A large crowd of friends, family and “hangry” ones were excited for the Louisa 123 Cafe on Blair’s Way, Louisa, Kentucky in the Yatesville Shopping Plaza.
The food was delicious at 123 Cafe. We had a Kentucky Wild Roll in a large platter for $13 and the large drink was $2.25. The roll is at least eight pieces of sushi and other Japanese cuisine. Many customers were excited to eat after the Grand Opening ceremony. 123 Cafe gave out gift cards for a free meal & drink good only for today.

So $16 bucks for a meal?
This is Louisa Ky…..½ of our residents don’t even have $16 bucks to spare the second half of the month.
I would break out in hives if anyone in this town ever had a positive comment for any local business.
Ask the government for it. Im sure they will feed you.
The reality is, that really is more expensive than what most residents in this job poor (and poor jobs) county can afford. It’s about like the pricing at Golden Corral. Regardless, I’m glad they came to Louisa and hope they do well. I’m sure the poor can afford to splurge a little occasionally. Hopefully we start getting coupons.
Job poor county? Then how does this poor county afford a COUNTY library that sits on millions and is forced to spend it anyway the puppet board can dream up? It will be interesting in years to come how the library will spend our tax dollar from all us poor folk. Sit back and watch. They will have to be creative to flush millions. Maybe they can END WORLD HUNGER.
I have to admit, you’ve got a point there. The library situation is ridiculous.
