No notice for employees and vendors…

LOUISA, Ky. — Local food store manager Kathy Stuart confirmed yesterday the closing of the Louisa Save a Lot by it’s parent company. She said the store will no longer be open after May 8, 2026.
“I have no other word yet, but they have told me it will close May 8,” Stuart said. “I have been given no reason and business was pretty good last last month so we just don’t know.”
She said the Inez store will remain open.
Here is a message Ms Stuart sent out on Facebook yesterday:

“…I would like to take a moment to address the recent news regarding the closure of Louisa Save A Lot on May 8th. Unfortunately, this information is accurate. It had been my intention to communicate this personally with each of our employees and vendors, allowing them the respect, time, and privacy to process the news and discuss it with their families. I sincerely apologize to anyone who learned of this development through social media before hearing it directly from us. I also want to extend my deepest gratitude to our valued customers. Your support, loyalty, and kindness have meant more than words can fully express. You have truly been the most rewarding part of this experience, and we will deeply miss serving each and every one of you. I hope to see many of you in the coming days as we prepare to close our doors.”
Stuart said the company’s press release will be coming soon.
