The Louisa Rotary Club held their weekly meeting Thursday May 9, 2019. Topics included Economic Development, The New Music park events and The kygivesday nonprofit organization for free eye care.
Guest Speaker, Adam Rice, Congressman Hal Roger’s Field Representative for Eastern Kentucky spoke about the need for economic needs of the communities and education development and training. He introduced a new 3 year Aviation Maintenance Technician Degree. You will be trained to work on all Aviation Equipment, starting around $61,000. It will be offered at various vocational schools including Big Sandy Vocational School in Paintsville, Ky.
Louisa Rotary, along with sponsors LC Tourism Board/LC Trail Town Committee present Music In The Park. This is a new event that will be held weekly at Main Street Park on Thursday evenings. This week’s theme is SPRINGTIME ON THE LEVISA. There will be a themed table contest starting at 6pm. and the winner receives a $25 gift certificate to Masterpiece Cafe. Playing music at 7pm will be Laid Back Country Picker and Luna And The Jets.
