Josh Ball, COO of SOAR (Shaping Our Appalachian Region), presented an informative program to Louisa Rotary on November 6. SOAR is a nonprofit serving 54 Appalachian Regional counties of eastern Kentucky.

The goal of SOAR is to invest in our communities and attract new residents. This would help drive economic growth and regional prosperity. There are many programs available to help make this a real reality.

Josh is passionate about promoting our area and improving economic outcomes. He summed up his presentation by saying that it’s not about problems to be solved but solutions to be discovered in eastern Kentucky.

Through a partnership with the Louisa Rotary Club and First Baptist Church of Louisa, we were awarded a community grant in the amount of $1,000.00 from Louisa Walmart. This grant will be used to purchase turkeys for our local resource centers to distribute to families for Thanksgiving.
