Rotary attends Maundy Thursday….at LFB
On Thursday April 14, 2022 The Louisa Rotary Regular Meeting met in the Louisa First Baptist Church Sanctuary for Holy Week instead of meeting in the cafe for their meeting.
The group joined LFBC Pastor, Chuck Price, who welcomed the congregation to the service and introduced Matt Brown, Lead Pastor at The Table, to present the message.
Holy Week is the week leading up to the important Christian festival of Easter, beginning on Palm Sunday, including Maundy Thursday and ending on Holy Saturday. Pilgrims in Jerusalem enact the Way of Suffering of Jesus at this time.
Churches in the Louisa/Ft. Gay area annually observe the week by having noontime services with pastors switching churches.
Maundy Thursday is the 5th Holy Day of the week and is part of the Christian Celebration of Easter it marks the night of the Last Supper as told in the Bible. At the Last Supper Jesus commanded that people should love one another, he then washed the feet of his disciples as an act of kindness.
After the beautifully done service everyone met with the crowd at the service to eat food prepared by the ladies of Louisa First Baptist Church.
The next Rotary Regular Scheduled Meeting will be on Thursday April 21, 2022. Upcoming Speaker will be provided by Ellen Taylor, Secretary, of The Louisa Rotary.
