LOUISA, Ky. — On May 12, 2018 at 12:48pm Sgt. Steven Wilburn of the Louisa Police Department was called to the Louisa Walmart in reference to a shoplifting complaint.
Brandi D. Fannin, 35 of Tomahawk, was witnessed by store employees “tag swapping” (placing lower priced tags on items). Louisa Police Chief Greg Fugitt said.
During the course of the investigation by Sgt. Wilburn it was discovered that Ms. Fannin was in possession of several drug items and drug paraphernalia which included methamphetamine, suboxone, neurontin and valium.
Further investigation discovered that Ms. Fannin was with two male subjects that had already left the store and were waiting for her in a vehicle in the parking lot.
After locating the vehicle and the male subjects, Elvis C. Spence, 50, and Mark M. Mollette, 40, both of Tomahawk, Ky., Sgt. Wilburn and LPD K-9 unit Kenya did a search of the vehicle where more methamphetamine was located.
Brandi Fannin was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking under $500, Conspiracy to Trafficking in Control Substance 2nd degree, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree.
Elvis Spence was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Trafficking in Control Substance 2nd degree and Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree.
Mark Mollett was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Traffick in Controlled Substance 2nd degree, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree and Possession of Marijuana.
All were lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Dentition Center.
Sgt. Wilburn was assisted by Deputy Chuck Jackson of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department.
