Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. softball and soccer have been very successful at the high school level for a while now. Both programs have played in the state tournaments in their respective sports and I don’t look for that success to suffer any after watching the middle school teams recently. Both programs are in good hands with Heath Webb leading soccer and Jimmy Methax coaching softball.
LMS Softball 2016
On the softball side the Lady Dawgs are 3-3-1 on the season with a third place finish in a tournament recently held in Louisa. LMS was just a few runs away from winning the whole tournament.
Mackenzie Methax has been pitching well and hit a home run in a recent win over East Carter. Halli Caudill, Ashley Hayes and Jessika Johnson have also been playing well for the Lady Dawgs.
LMS has beaten Greenup Co. East Carter and Johnson Central so far.

2016 LMS Soccer
After beating Ashland 5-4 in come from behind fashion on Tuesday night the Louisa middle soccer team improved to 4-1-1 on the season. A lot of new faces at the middle school and this was a great win for the team.
The game was tied 3-3 at halftime and Ashland took the lead with 10 minutes left before LMS tied it up on a goal from Ellie Webb and then got the game winner on a free kick from 20 yards out by Sarah Lycans with 5 minutes left in the game and the Soccer Dawgs held on to the win. Ally Moore was in goal for the Lady Dawgs
LMS Soccer Head Coach Heath Webb
COACH’S COMMENT
“… Coming into the season this team had big shoes to fill, we lost 10 out of 11 starters from last year’s team. We have a lot of new faces and players stepping into key positions, With every practice and game they get stronger and more confident to help us defend our district championship title.”
