DRUG TRAFFICKING FIEND IN LAWRENCE COUNTY. LARRY EUGENCE DIXON, 59, OF LOUISA KENTUCKY.

A Lawrence County, Kentucky man was arrested last week by state police on multiple drug charges after a traffic stop in the southeastern part of Lawrence County.
According to the Kentucky State Police Post 14 in Ashland, on the early evening of Thursday, February 12, Larry Eugene Dixon, 59 of Louisa, KY., was arrested on February 12, 2026, following a traffic stop by trooper Austin Castle on Meades Branch Road in Lawrence County, according to Lawrence County court records.

Larry Dixon is facing the following charges as listed in court documents:
  • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE FENTANYL;
  • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (COCAINE);
  • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE):
  • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN);
  • FAILURE OF NON-OWNER OPERATOR TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE;
  • IMPROPER REGISTRATION PLATE;
  • NO REGISTRATION PLATES;
  • IMPROPER DISPLAY OF REGISTRATION PLATES;
  • FAILURE TO OR IMPROPER SIGNAL.
Larry Dixon was later transported to and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville in Johnson County, KY., where his bond set at $5,000 full cash, of which Larry Dixon posted and was subsequently released from the jail, a surprise move made more incredulous as Larry Dixon is a convicted felon who was previously arrested 3 times in Lawrence County between July 2021 in November 2025 for trafficking heroin and methamphetamine, as well as being arrested in October 2019 in Ross County, Ohio for violating his parole.
