The group Louisa KY Rocks, on Facebook, former name Louisa Rocks was created June 16, 2017. Marsha Slone came up with the idea to hand paint some rocks to hide, so it could be a fun family/ community activity.
The group is for people to connect with the outdoors, plus find and hide small earth gifts. This is a free gift from the heart that you make yourself, like a hand painted rock with an inspirational or happy theme.
LOUISA KY ROCKS currently has 2,805 members. The painted rocks have became a huge success. They have traveled all across the country and been found in Michigan, Texas, Ohio and many other places. People have been great about posting their finds and keeping everyone updated with pics!
This is like a treasure hunt, looking for the painted rocks. Let the children paint some rocks, and hide them, or take them rock hunting today!
Can someone post some rock painting tips for us? What type of paint? What is used for writing? Etc.
Go on the Louisa KY Rocks site and ask one of the administrators or under a post where someone has painted rocks and they can tell you more. I am not that good at it!
