MAY 13, 2024 – written by WADE QUEEN
According to the Prestonsburg Police Department, they stated that Katie Picklesimer, 38, of Tutor Key, KY., has been employed as a clerk at the UK-King’s Daughters Medical Center clinic on U.S. 23 in Prestonsburg in Floyd County. Part of Katie Picklesimer work duties in that role was to accept payment for patient co-pays, many of which were paid with credit cards.
Prestonsburg Police Department Detective Dennis Hutchinson, who also has been investigating a separate case in which a clerk at the Department of Transportation Prestonsburg driver’s license office used patron debit card numbers for personal expenses, got a report alleging that Picklesimer had been doing the same thing.
The Prestonsburg Police Department alleges that Katie Picklesimer used patient credit card numbers to buy items on the TikTok store, using her own name and address to have the items shipped to her.
Katie Picklesimer is now wanted for eight separate counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. The Prestonsburg Police Department said that when Katie Picklesimer learned she was under investigation, she went home and left her husband a note saying she was leaving him for a boyfriend in the state of New York. Katie Picklesimer hasn’t been seen since, except she contacted a friend after she went on the run to say she had a flat tire.
The Prestonsburg Police Department is now on the hunt for Katie Picklesimer. The PPD asks any patients of UK-King’s Daughters clinic in Prestonsburg who notice suspicious charges on their cards to contact them at (606) 886-1010.

Meanwhile, in the second other recent case, a Johnson County woman was arrested earlier this month on felony charges linked to crimes she allegedly committed while she was employed at the Kentucky Department of Transportation’s driver’s license division in Prestonsburg.
According to an arrest citation report written by Prestonsburg Police Department Detective Dennis Hutchinson, on Friday, May 3, he arrested Brittany R. Dingus, 30, of Bear Hollow, East Point KY., on charges of two separate counts fraudulent use of a credit card ($500 to $1,000), attempted fraudulent use of a credit card after reported lost/stolen ($500 to $1,000) and first-degree unlawful access to a computer.
According to the arrest citation report, during an investigation it was discovered that while working at the DOT driver’s license division in Prestonsburg, Brittany Dingus obtained personal debit card information of three individuals. The arrest citation report went on further to state that Brittany Dingus then made several online purchases using the stolen personal debit card information.
The arrest citation report ended with the written information that Brittany Dingus used an email address of another individual for some of the purchases.
Brittany Dingus, according to county court docket records, is set to be arraigned on the charges on Wednesday, May 15, before Floyd County District Court Judge Tyler Green.
After her arrest, Brittanny Dingus was taken to the Floyd County Jail in Prestonsburg. No further information is available at this time, due to the jail’s policy of not releasing jail inmates booking mugshot photos, as well as their status of incarceration or if they have been released from custody after having bonded out.
