Why are my tax dollars legally being used to invite particular children and families to participate in programs, such as Build-A-Bear, and for free tickets to Camden Park? Every LC child should at least have the opportunity.
Thanks for being the first person today to remind us no matter how hard we work or how much we give back to the community someone is always going to have something negative say. I’m sorry you didn’t get something free however if you or your family have come into the library from our programs you would have gotten a ticket to the first one the second and third build a buddy was open to the public with out a ticket. We do the best we can do every single day. As far as Camden park tickets go those were given to us with the directions that they were for program attendance, every year you have to earn them with a punch card for attendance however this year we were unable to do punch tickets because of lack of staffing so attendance sheets were used to give them out. We will go back to punch card next year if we decide to do them at this point with all the complaining about it we may not.
Obviously, someone does not like being questioned about where our tax dollars are being spent. Sorry – not sorry. That is our right to know. Keep asking those questions, Mary.
Obviously I answered the question I have seen you post on everything coming and going. We are very transparent and everything we do is posted for anyone to see. Now you have the answer to the question. There is no conspiracy we are working hard to serve the public.
I day and time when even the poorest among us seam to have a phone that can be used to search anything on earth, pull up any book written and store a whole library on demand , we still build these huge multi millon $ library’s that take half the taxes in county while we have roads that are fit only for 4 x4 s and a county seat that’s the rehab center .
Have you ever heard the phrase “No good deed goes unpunished “. I have no young children and yet I am so impressed and grateful for what our Library does for this community. You all have programs and services that build up our community rather than tear it down. Please keep up the good job
Now for the haters out there, yes I am a taxpayer and have been for over 23 years. Also, if you are so concerned with how the money is being spent or have questions or concerns with how some programs are being run, go to a Board meeting, I do believe they are open meetings that are even posted. I am sure they would welcome more community involvement that is trying to make everything a more positive situation for all of us

The camedn park to ckets are donated by them to us for program attendance so your tax dollars did not buy a single ticket for anyone

And an elementary school for our smallest students that looks like it is from a third world country!
That’s your school boards fault.
