Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. high school will host the 15th Region Boys and Girls Tennis Tournament beginning Monday morning, May 15.

Drew Compton, Hannah May, JD Montgomery, Brylee Blair, Trey Hall, TK Ellis, Kassidy Burke
Eight schools will be participating in the tournament with the winners advancing to the state tournament in Lexington May 30th through June 1st.

Girls Singles

Kennedy is the overall number one seed in the girls’ singles tournament and favorite to win her 3rd singles title in a row
Riley Sammons will have to play the number 2 overall seed Makinna Caudill from Magoffin County in the first round
Girls Doubles
- Riley McClanahan/TK Ellis
- Molly McClanahan/Brylee Blair
Riley and TK are the number 3 seed overall and have a great chance to make it to state
Boys Singles
- Chase Kendrick
- Blake Maynard
Chase and Blake are the top two seeds in the tournament and will hopefully play each other in the finals
Boys Doubles
- Alex Desario/Cayden Sweeney
- JD Montgomery/Trey Hall
Alex and Cayden are the number 3 seed in the tournament as freshman
JD and Trey are Sr’s and along with Alex and Cayden have a great chance to make it to state this year.
Kennedy Gauze a Junior went 12-0 in Regional play, 14-2 overall. She played a top ranked player from TN when we went there this spring.
Riley Sammons, a Junior went 10-2 in Region and 11-3 overall.
Riley McClanahan/TK Ellis a JR and SR went 9-1 in the region and 10-2 overall
Molly McClanahan/Brylee Blair, a FR and SR went 6-3 in Region and 7-4 overall
Chase Kendrick an 8th grader, went undefeated in region play, 11-0 and went 14-1 overall only losing to Russell’s number one seed and beating Sevier County TN and Knott County, KY’s number one seeds.
Blake Maynard, a JR, spilt number one seed duties with Chase and he went 10-0 in region play and 11-2 overall
Alex DeSario/Cayden Sweeney , both Fr, went 10-3 this season and earned the number 3 seed in the region tournament. They went 11-5 overall.
Trey Hall/JD, both SR’s, finished 8-2 in region and 9-3 overall.
