LCHS stars Jones and Blevins showcase their talents in East/West series

Bowling Green, Ky. — Lawrence Co. Softball was well represented this past weekend in the Ky Prep East/West series at Bowling Green High School. 

 

Recent Graduate Bree Jones played for the second year in a row. Jones singled in her last plate appearance on Sunday. She finished as the all time hits leader in Lawrence County history with 283 and career batting average at .497 

Senior to be Taylor Blevins participated in the East/West series for the first time. She was also the recipient of the Vernon Bibb outstanding pitcher for the East All-Stars. Blevins also played some first base and right field during the three game series.  

Both ladies had very good seasons for the Bulldogs helping them to the Final Four and have both earned accolades this off-season. 

Jones had a .424 batting average, was a perfect 22-22 stealing bases, 42 hits and 47 runs scored from her leadoff spot. 

Blevins went 22-5 with a 2.50 era, 154 innings, 140 strikeouts, walked 25 and allowed 55 earned runs.
