LOUISA, KY. — LCHS Health Science Internship Program with Community Partner, The Jordan Center of Louisa, KY

For the 2024-2025 school year, LCHS Health Sciences, under the direction of Mrs. Adams, will be partnering with The Jordan Center of Louisa, KY.

The Jordan Center provides internships and hands-on experience with residents, along with job shadowing career opportunities, including physical/occupational therapy, registered nurse, KMA, and CNA.

Health Sciences has 19 seniors enrolled in the pre-nursing pathway at LCHS. Currently, 12 students are taking the (Nursing Associate Apprentice) NAA 100 class through Ashland Community & Technical College.

In December, these students will get the opportunity to take the KY CNA written & skills exam and earn their (Certified Nursing Assistant) CNA license in the state of KY. The other 7 senior students are enrolled in pre-nursing internships and participate Monday-Friday for two hours daily at The Jordan Center.

These two student groups will swap programs after Christmas break, allowing all 19 senior students to participate in the internship and earn their KY CNA license!

Mrs. Adams and the Lawrence County School District are so appreciative of community partners like The Jordan Center for allowing our students such incredible educational opportunities!
