Louisa, Ky. –– The Lawrence County Boys Soccer team went 3-0 in the 2026 Soccerama held at Stonecrest Sports Park last Saturday.

Scott Johnson is going into his 9th season coaching the Bulldogs and he is excited for the quantity of players out this season after a 9-9 season in 2025 and the loss of several talented players to graduation.
The SoccerDawgs beat Perry County Central, Prestonsburg and Paintsville and played Menifee County to a Draw in the Soccerama last Saturday at Stonecrest.
2026 Bulldog Seniors

The SoccerDawgs beat Paintsville 8-0 in the first round of the 15th Region Tournament before falling to Johnson Central 2-1 in the semifinals. They lost a talented group of Seniors that included Aiden, Mynhier, Owen Pack, Boedy Maynard, Caden Sweeney and Alex DeSario.

The SoccerDawgs will open the regular season at 8:00 on Tuesday night versus Boyd County on the turf at Luke Varney Jr Memorial Stadium.

COACH’S COMMENTS
“…Excited about the quantity of players that we have out but now we need to see what quality we have. We looked good in the Soccerama but the teams we played were a little undermanned. We played a really good Menifee County team to a 4-4 draw where four different players scored so that was great to see. That gives us some parity across that field which we haven’t had around here because teams would focus on one player.”
“… The guys are ready to get the season going against Boyd Co. they have been going for a while now against each other and really want to see someone different. Challenging week for us with Belfry on Thursday which is a Region opponent so we will see where we stand pretty early.”
“…Our biggest area of inexperience is our defense with so many new players having to learn a new scheme and communicate with each other. Our goal keeping should be steady with Junior returner Cole Robinette and Freshman Korbin Brown. We have some guys who have some experience like Cooper Vinson and Bobby Baisden along with the Senior class with two four year players in Colton New and Jack Cline. The other senior Issac Febish also has some experience even though he has only been with us for two years.”
