
LC Tourism Welcomes Braylee Triplett…

The Lawrence County Tourism Commission had a Regular Scheduled Monthly Meeting at Taco Bell, Louisa, Kentucky 41230 on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 5:30PM. LC Commissioner Wes Kingsmore was in attendance along with the members including Brenda Hardwick, Tom Bradley, Christy Moore and Kate Cecil.
Members Debbie Hill and Susie Chambers were absent. Also Johnda Barker was in attendance.
SPECIAL GUEST – BRAYLEE TRIPLETT
The Special Guest at the Lawrence County Meeting was Braylee Triplett. Triplett will be attending Ashland Community And Technical School and will be helping with Tourism activities for 35 hours a week. She may also help out with Mountain Movers Theatre in Louisa.
FREE FISHING DAYS
The Free Fishing days was a perfect weather event. There was a great turnout and food was supplied.
FUN DAY IN THE PARK
Fun Day in the Park had a good turnout and presented a wrestling ring match.
MINUTES TO APPROVE FOR MAY MEETING
The May Meeting Minutes were unanimously approved with a Motion by Christy Moore and seconded by Tom Bradley.
APPROVAL OF MAY FINANCIAL REPORT
The May Financial Report was unanimously approved with a Motion by Tom Bradley and seconded by Christy Moore.
BURGER DAYS
Burger Days will start at participating restaurants on June 27 – July 4, 2026. Customers will vote on their favorite burger and winner will be announced.
BRIDGE DAY
Bridge Day is coming on June 27, 2026. Everyone will meet at the Fred M. Vinson Museum and walk across the Bridge to Fort Gay and back over to Louisa. There will be Live music.
FOURTH OF JULY
The Fourth of July Celebration will start with a parade at 10AM, and end the day with Live Music at the TRW VENDOR MARKET with Ossie Lucas in the plaza and
Fireworks at dusk.
LAWRENCE COUNTY FAIR
The Lawrence County Fair will start July 25-27. It is located at the top of Town Hill and will have many attractions. More news coming soon.

Lawrence County Tourism Minutes, May 18, 2026

The Lawrence County Tourism Commission met on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 5:30 pm at the Fred Vinson Tourism Office. Members in attendance were Chairman Wes Kingsmore, Debbie Hill. Kate Cecil, Christy Moore, Chris Jobe and Susie Chambers, Also attending were Committee member Brenda Hardwick, Johnda Barker and guests Kris and Ossie Lucas.
Wes called the meeting to order and offered the opening prayer. He then gave the floor to our special guests Kris and Ossie Lucas. Ossie told of his plans for their event scheduled for the last weekend of May. He said they will have live music, food trucks and an area for vendors to set up outside for free. He said he would like to partner with tourism on other events. Tourism members were very receptive of the idea.
Old business: 1. The Community Bike Ride was overall a good event. 2. The Footloose pre Show music, featuring Liv & the Syndicate, was well attended with good weather and everyone had a good time.
April minutes were presented to the board with a motion to accept by Chris Jobe and a second by Christy Moore. All in favor. Our financial report showed a balance of $21,815.17. Susie made a motion to approve with a second by Debbie. All in favor.
New business: 1. The fire department fundraiser for the Caudill family was a success in spite of the rain. 2. We have a few more bird houses that need to be finished. We will plan a day to hang them. 3. KTIA meeting in Hopkinsville had good sessions with the hot topic being Al.
The next meeting will be in Lexington. Our matching funds have to be spent by June 30th.
4. The EHN meeting gives our group exposure we wouldn’t have otherwise. Matching funds were a topic of discussion there as well. 5. Brown Food Service has agreed to do our posters and entry cards for Burger Days. This event will run from June 19 to July 4. Our 250 event will occur in the middle of Burger Days. We plan to block off the street by the Vinson museum and have live music, food trucks, our bridge walk and possibly an urban ride on June 27th. 6. June 6th is free fishing day and tourism will help with the lunch. 7. The Lawrence County fair is on July 25-27. 8. The 4th of July parade and tireworks will be held on saturday, July 4th. g. we voted to be a hole sponsor for the Ryan Sammons Memoral golf tournament. A motion was made by Susie to be a $100 sponsor with a 2nd by Kate. All in favor.
With no further business to come before the board a motion to adjourn was made by Christy with a second by Susie. All in tavor.
Our next regularly scheduled meeting will be on Monday. June 15th at 5:30 pm at the Fred Vinson Tourism Center.
