Lawrence County Tourism had a Regular Meeting on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Fallsburg Country Store at 5:30PM. The air conditioning is not working at the Fred M. Vinson Center so the Tourism has met at other county restaurants. Last month we met at Taco Bell in Louisa. LC Tourism Commissioner Wes Kingsmore was in attendance at the Tourism Meeting along with the Tourism Members including Susie Chambers, Debbie Hill, Christy Moore, Kate Cecil, Chris Jobe, Tom Bradley and Mayor of Louisa Harold Slone.
LOUISA MAYOR HAROLD SLONE COMMENTS
The Fourth of July was a very good day starting with the parade, music and fireworks to end the perfect day. Septemberfest is coming soon after the Lawrence County Fair, and there will be more advertising put out later.

CHRIS JOBE COMMENTS
Chandler Shepherd was at a Meet and Greet in Louisa at the LC Library last Thursday at 6PM. There were about 25 people. Everyone had a fun day.
FALLSBURG/BLAINE INDEPENDENCE DAY
At Creekside in Fallsburg there was a Car Show, Singing and Food Trucks. It was a great event.
FAIR KICKOFF UPDATES
The LC Fair is this weekend and lots of activities have been planned. From the Rodeo to the Horse Show everyone will be excited to see the show.
QUILT SHOP HOP UPDATE
There was a Quilt Shop Hop event last week and each person made a quilt and they had door prizes and came from Pikeville, Hazard and Paintsville. The winner was drawn by Kate Cecil from the LC Tourism Commission and Sherry Cavins quilt Won.
EKM MEETING
Wes Kingsmore and attended the EKM Meeting and sadly, Tourism dollars have been cut. The dollars that LC Tourism receives is dollars spent here in the County on events for the community. There will be another EKM Meeting in September presented by Lawrence County Tourism. The Motion was made to spend up to $300 on this meeting. Motion by Susie Chambers and seconded by Tom Bradley.
BURGER WEEK
The winners for the Burger Week event were Jeff Marcum who will receive a $150 gift card and Crystal Smith who won the $50 gift card. We Thank everyone who participated in Burger Week this year.
MINUTES TO APPROVE
The June Meeting Minutes were unanimously approved with a Motion by Chris Jobe and seconded by Kate Cecil.
APPROVAL OF FINANCIAL REPORT
The Financial Report for June was unanimously approved with a Motion by Susie Chambers and seconded by Christy Moore.
LC FAIR
Coming this weekend Lawrence County, KY Fair with lots of events for everyone to participate in.
HARVEST TOUR
Sadly, Savage Farms in Fallsburg, Kentucky will not be participating in the Harvest Tour anymore. Much more is coming soon.
HARVEST MOON GALA
This event will be at the LC Extension Office. Dates have not been released yet.
SEPTEMBERFEST
Many events and music are planned for the Septemberfest 2026. After the LC Fair there will be more to tell about everything happening.
