The Lawrence County Fiscal Court had a Regular Meeting on July 19, 2022 at 10AM. Those in attendance included LC Fiscal Court Judge Executive Phillip Carter and County Magistrates John Scaggs, David (Mouse) Halcomb, Rick Blackburn and David Pinson.

5. Approve Treasurer’s Request – Motion by Rick Blackburn 2nd by David (Mouse) Halcomb. No Discussion. None Opposed.
6. Approve Bills – Motion by David Pinson 2nd by John Scaggs. No Discussion. None Opposed.
7. Approve Treasurer’s Report – Motion by David (Mouse) Halcomb 2nd by Rick Blackburn. No Discussion. None Opposed.
8. Appointed Members to Solid Waste Board – Discussion to add Matt Blackburn and Eddie Dixon to the Solid Waste Board. Motion by Rick Blackburn 2nd by David (Mouse) Halcomb. None Opposed.
9. Appoint Member to Board of Appeals – Discussion to add Jon Rose and Todd Moran to the Board of Appeals. Motion by David Pinson 2nd by David (Mouse) Halcomb. None Opposed.
10. Approve Salary Adjustment – Discussion on county salary adjustment, after some employees received .50 cents more on the hour than others. This issue was discovered and corrected, judge/executive Phillip L. Carter said. Motion by David (Mouse) Halcomb 2nd by Rick Blackburn. None Opposed.
11. Public Comments –
Dr. Robbie Fletcher Supt. of Lawrence County School’s said “Thank you” to the LC Fiscal Court for all their support:
“We are starting construction on the LC Softball Facility this year and next year we will start on a Vocational Bldg.,” Fletcher said. “We are gearing up for the New LC School ‘FY 2022 – 2023’ which starts on August 10, 2022.
“We have been evaluating our building’s and know that Louisa Middle School needs a new roof and Louisa West needs work.”

Also Lawrence County Magistrates Rick Blackburn and David Mouse Halcomb spoke about the Lawrence County Fair at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds in Louisa, Kentucky coming up the last weekend in July.
Blackburn and Halcomb mentioned a lot of the activities going on which includes Motorcross, Beauty Pageant, Horse Show, Corn – Hole and Out – House Race. Halcomb said, “The winners will WIN BIG MONEY and also the LC Extension Office will have crafts on display starting at 10AM.”
