Lawrence County Supt. Dr. Rob Fletcher has been bustin’ it to explain to different groups in the community what the schools look like in this ‘Day of the Virus”.
He has been doing day to day tweets much like President Trump informing the public of the devastation in the communities everywhere. The local school system has plenty of comfort for their misery as most schools in all parts of both W.Va. and Kentucky have shut down due to the Coronavirus scare.
The schools will continue to operate through computer work during their NTI classes but not all teachers are trained for NTI, especially in the lower grade levels.

To All Students, Parents, Faculty, and Staff:
The Lawrence County Board of Education would like to thank each of you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to each of you during these trying times. We want you to know that your board of education will use its full power and discretion to ensure safety, continue services, provide counseling, continue education, and protect our students and staff. We are following the recommendations of the Governor and the CDC in our efforts to help protect everyone. Dr. Fletcher and our staff have planned innovative and creative ways to educate and to provide all services needed for our school community. We appreciate and support all our staff for their dedicated service. We will continue to educate, feed, and provide for our students and staff. The following services are now provided, and we encourage all to participate in any and all that are needed.
Non- traditional instruction for all students – Administrators and teachers have adapted our usual NTI practices to provide instruction to all students.
Feeding Program– Food will be provided by “drive up” service at Blaine Elementary, Fallsburg Elementary, Louisa East, and Louisa Middle Schools from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Buses will begin to deliver food on Wednesday, March 18th. You can request delivery services by contacting the school you attend or the school nearest you.See the phone numbers below.
Counseling Services– Guidance counselors will be available for tele-counseling services for students. If students have a need, they are welcome to call their school.If the counselor is not available immediately, a school official will take contact information.The student will receive a return call.

Lawrence County Schools WILL NOT have any field trips, sports practices/games, competitions for 14 days beginning Monday, March 16th through Sunday, March 29th. All Spring Break trips are cancelled or postponed. We will re-evaluate the situation on the 29th. #AllinLC
