Louisa Police Department’s Pt. Teddy Newsome Honored with Governors Awards

Louisa, KY – The Louisa Police Department proudly announces that Patrolman (Pt.) Teddy Newsome has been awarded the 2024 Kentucky Governor’s DUI Enforcement Award and the Seatbelt Enforcement Award. These distinguished accolades underscore his unwavering dedication to public safety and his exceptional contributions to reducing impaired driving and promoting seatbelt compliance in the community.

Pt. Newsome’s commitment to proactive law enforcement has significantly bolstered roadway safety in Louisa and beyond. His tireless efforts in apprehending impaired drivers and advocating for seatbelt use have made a lasting impact, setting a high standard of excellence for officers across the Commonwealth.

“We are incredibly proud of Pt. Teddy Newsome for his exemplary service and the recognition he has earned at the state level,” said Chief Greg Fugitt. “His dedication reflects the Louisa Police Department’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. The Governor’s DUI Enforcement Award is presented annually to law enforcement officers who excel in the enforcement of driving under the influence laws. The Seatbelt Enforcement Award recognizes officers who demonstrate exceptional dedication to encouraging and enforcing
