Lawrence Co. Head Coach Travis Feltner

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… That was a classic Lawrence Co./ Paintsville baseball game. I told you the other night that I was in love with this Baseball team. Primarily because we are very good defensively. And I am a defensive minded guy, now don’t get me wrong, I like offense too. This is as good as a defensive team that we can put on the field. We had to make some defensive plays under pressure in the seventh inning and we made them all.”

“… Boedy ( Maynard ) has done what he has done all year. Tip your hat to them they made some pitches to us and got out of some tough spots. We chased Lauffer in the first inning and Dixon ( Kincheloe ) came in and got them out of the bases loaded jam. That game could have went way different if we just through in the first inning.”

“… Tygar ( Cavins ) has been a machine for us, he is as impressive offensively as I have seen, now he isn’t going to hit doubles and home runs but he doesn’t strike out and puts the ball in play.”

“… Same set up as last year with Pikeville in the semis. They know our kids and we know their kids. Hopefully mutual respect between the two programs. We are going to put our uniforms on and come down here to take care of business whatever day that is. A lot of people talk to me about the draw and we don’t care. I told the other coaches on the way to the meeting that I didn’t care who we drew. I am in love with our ball club and we will earn it for sure.”
