CRIMINAL DEVIANT FOR STEALING FUNERAL TRUCK: MARCUS DILLION THOMPSON, 27, OF ULYSSES, KENTUCKY.
A Lawrence County, Kentucky man will spend three (3) years in prison following sentencing Thursday, January 15, by Martin County Circuit Court Judge John Kevin Holbrook in Inez, KY.
Marcus Dillion Thompson, 27, of Ulysses, KY., was sentenced on a single count of:
* THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING (> THAN $10,000) .
According to court records, the sentence stems from an incident February 4, 2023, when Marcus Thompson took a truck and a grave vault from Callaham Funeral Home in Warfield, KY. While he was en route to the West Virginia state border line, he dumped the vault along KY-292.
Marcus Thompson was later apprehended in Mingo County, West Virginia, where police found him hiding inside a garage that he broke into to elude capture.
Mingo County Circuit CourtJudge Miki Thompson imposed a one (1) to three (3) prison year sentence on Marcus Thompson.
According to Martin County Court records, Marcus Thompson received credit for 337 days of incarceration before his sentencing in Martin County.
