Louisa, KY, February 14th, 2017 — As winter continues on, the effects of “cabin fever” are in full force. The winter of 2016-2017 has been a mild one, but spring is in the air, which means fishing season is upon us.
With this in mind, the 3rd annual Lawrence County High School Bass Club Swap Meet will be held Saturday, March 4th, 2017 at the Lawrence County High School gymnasium.
Doors will open at 8:00AM for vendors and 9:00AM for the general public and will be closing at 3:30PM. Admission will be $3, with all Lawrence County students $1. Concessions will be sold during the event. Door prizes will be awarded every 30 minutes during the event.
Although fishing and hunting teams are the main focus for this event, other goods may be sold. Past vendors, such as Anger Baits Company from Ashland, KY, K.L.M. Worms from Logan, WV, and other vendors from the tri-state area. Also, the Lawrence County Tourism Department will be providing shopping bags to fill full of purchased items. Anyone wishing to be a vendor may rent spaces for $10 per table the day of the event, with additional table spaces for $5.
The 2016 Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s Bass Fishing State Champions will be entering their 4th year of state competition. Seniors Conner May and Brayden West anchor the team, along with the state champion duo of Eric Price and Noah West.
