BLAINE, Ky. — Community members here have been saddened by the sudden death of a Blaine Elementary 7th grade student.
Angel Evans, who was an active student and basketball player at the school, died of what the family termed ‘unknown’ causes as social media cranks up on her death. She was living with her mother, Ashley Evans when she became suddenly sick and was rushed to TRMC and then Cabell Huntington Hospital where she died of still undetermined causes.
School officials declined comment.
Pitiful, Levisa Lazer and Mr. Grayson! While we all wonder what happened when someone passes suddenly, when you take it upon yourself to publish an article stating that you have contacted the coroner and the hospitals trying to find out information that you are not privy too, that’s sad. I expected to see Wades byline, not yours, Mr. Grayson! I’m ashamed of you and your paper for this article. If the family wants us to know once they do, I’m sure they will let the public know. Let’s just remember this family that lost their precious daughter.
It is a news story when a 7th grader dies of no stated cause. The school posted the information and if you will refresh your browser and look at the Lazer story you will see it is now correct and approved by the mother.
There is an extended article on FB under your papers title being very disrespectful and lying this is an underage child the papers and news should wait and talk to the parents if they want to tell you not poke around and gathering false info and publishing it —it’s sad that this family has to deal with this loss they don’t need this kind of junk being posted all over social media ——have some respect for this family!! —— I have lost all respect for this paper

Happy you corrected the report but know this Sir it is not the public’s business what happened to this child so please let it be —unless the family wants it known
This is ridiculous! And so very disrespectful!!!!’ Apparently Mr Grayson you have forgotten how to fact check information or don’t care enough to take the time to do so! I remember many years ago when you were more compassionate and honest with your news stories. I know factually that she did not live with her grandfather. He doesn’t even live in the Blaine area! This is definitely not a “newspaper” nor is it a “news worthy blog” with stories like this being put out for the community to read!!! This article reads more like a tabloid article you’d read in the enquirer where 99% is hearsay and made up! You should really be ashamed for the wording in this article. The family deserves much more compassion and consideration in their time of terrible grief than you have shown here. You need to ask for the family and Gods forgiveness for ugh a travesty in print. Besides, whose business is it what her cause of death was? That is personal between her family and physicians and any other “official” deemed necessary. Not for publicity.
I get it Donna, the story went out too quickly before I got in contact with family members, but I had no way of knowing who they were. School wouldn’t tell me I should have messaged Daniel Castle but didn’t think of it. I have fixed the story into a piece that both this media site and the family agree is correct. Should have never been published in a manor that you had to correct it. We as humans like to feed off rumors. We need to be praying for the family. Before you start printing a news story you need to make sure it’s true and also think of who you are going to Hurt
Disrespectful and very republican as well. Leave the family alone…not your business…I’d sue if it was me….
Hiw ignorant of you to bring politics into this.
