A beautiful Christmas tree adorned the court room as sheriff Chuck Jackson, LC asst judge/exec Vince Doty, Carol Workman, Chrystal Smith and Co. Atty., Johnny Osborne listen to the meeting.

Lawrence Co. Supt. Katie Webb and assistant Tommy Burns were at the fiscal court meeting to thank Carter and the court for help with moving refuse to and from the new $10 million vocational facility at LCHS.

LAWRENCE COUNTY FISCAL COURT NAMES FOUR NEW FIRE BOARD MEMBERS…

The Lawrence County Fiscal Court had its Regular Meeting on Tuesday November 19, 2024 at the Lawrence County Courthouse, 122 S. Main Cross Street, Second Floor Downtown, Louisa, Kentucky 41230 at 10AM. Lawrence County Judge Executive Phil Carter was in attendance along with Lawrence County Magistrates David Pinson, Rick Blackburn, Mike Halcomb and John Scaggs.

FOUR NEW FIRE BOARD MEMBERS NAMED

Carter introduced four new members for the District 2 Fire Board. He did not say how many members serve on the taxing board nor which ones are still serving. The district allows LVFD to answer calls surrounding the Louisa city limits. A tax is collected from consumers in the district and spent by the board of directors.

  1.  David Hughes – Motion by Rick Blackburn 2nd by Mike Halcomb.
  2.  Shannon Preece – Motion by Rick Blackburn 2nd by David Pinson.
  3.  Gary Nelson – Motion by Rick Blackburn 2nd by Mike Halcomb.
  4.  Danny Barker– Motion by Rick Blackburn 2nd by Mike Halcomb.The New Fire Board Members were all unanimously approved.

CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION TO BRENDA HARDWICK

Phil Carter and the LC Magistrates proclaimed this week as Brenda Hardwick Week. Carter said, “Brenda is always at every activity and event and is always helping out with whatever needs to be done.” Carter gave Brenda Hardwick a plaque with a “Certificate of Appreciation” proclaiming this week Brenda Hardwick Week!!

APPROVE MINUTES

The LC Magistrates approved the Minutes of October 15, 2024 Regular Meeting with a Motion by Mike Halcomb 2nd by Rick Blackburn.

TREASURERS REPORT, REQUEST AND APPROVE BILLS

The Treasurers Report was unanimously approved with a Motion by Rick Blackburn 2nd by John Scaggs. There was no Treasurers Request. LC Treasurer Josh Puckett said, “Asphalt is mainly what the Bills cover.” The Bills were approved unanimously with a Motion by Rick Blackburn 2nd by Mike Halcomb.

APPROVE SHERIFFS 2025 BUDGET

The Sheriff’s 2025 Budget was approved unanimously by the LC Magistrates. Motion by David Pinson 2nd by Rick Blackburn.

APPROVE SHERIFFS ORDER SETTING MAXIMUM AMOUNT FOR DEPUTIES AND ASSISTANTS

This Order was approved unanimously by the LC Magistrates with a Motion by Mike Halcomb 2nd by John Scaggs.

APPROVE SHERIFFS 2025 STATE ADVANCEMENT

The Sheriffs 2025 State Advancement was passed unanimously with a Motion by Rick Blackburn 2nd by Mike Halcomb.

RESOLUTION FOR CLEANER WATER PROGRAM GRANT

The Resolution for Cleaner Water Program Grant was passed unanimously with a Motion by Mike Halcomb 2nd by Rick Blackburn. No discussion.
