4.A. Superintendent’s Update
4.A.1. Student numbers increase at Louisa East and Lawrence County High School, but the total number of students for the district has decreased by 10 students.
4.A.2. All Board members are invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony to kick off the first home football game of the season.
4.A.3. Foothills has committed to purchasing 1000 student tickets for various sports seasons with other businesses/community members also showing interest in sponsoring various events.
4.A.4. Property value assessments have increased for the current year, thus allowing the Superintendent’s recommendation to keep the same rate for real property and to decrease the rate for personal property (pending Board approval).
4.A.5. Several construction projects have been completed, are in the process of being completed, or are nearing their beginning. (turf, softball facility, sound system, fencing, LAVEC, LMS roof, playground equipment, etc.).
4.A.6. Dr. Fletcher will once again be serving on the accountability standards setting committee and has been asked to collaborate on various other aspects of the new accountability model.
4.A.7. The increase in property value assessments and collection rates also decreases the double nickel rate, dropping from 12.4 cents to 11.8 cents on the $100.
4.A.8. The Opening Day Breakfast was another great event; we appreciate Pathways’ sponsorship.
