In the past just over 5 & 1/4 days period from 5:00 P.M. September 14, 2019 thru to 11:59 P.M. September 19, 2019; there were at least 71 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 71, 11 of those arrested were from Lawrence County
Three Lawrence County residents were arrested in other Kentucky counties (2 in Boyd County, and 1 in Bourbon County). Also, a Fort Gay, West Virginia resident was arrested in Pike County, Kentucky.
That is in comparison to the previous past just under 8 & 1/4 days period from 11:15 A.M. September 6, 2019 thru to 5:00 P.M. September 14, 2019; there were at least 113 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 113, 9 of those arrested were from Lawrence County. No Lawrence County residents were arrested in other Kentucky counties.
The number of inmates that were lodged at the BSRDC in Paintsville is 237 (was at a high of 241 the day before) as of 6:00 A.M., Friday, September 20 , 2019.
The names and criminal charges of those latest eleven arrested in Lawrence County, along with the three Lawrence County residents (and one Fort Gay,West Virginia) arrested in other Ky. jurisdictions, are the following:
David R. Martin, 46, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested on September 15, 2019, at 6:37 P.M., by Constable Daniel Castle-District 3, and was charged with:
• IMPROPER EQUIPMENT,
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS,
• FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE,
• OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE
• NO REGISTRATION PLATES
• RESISTING ARREST.
John Robert Cornett, 46, of Gray, Kentucky; was arrested on September 16, 2019, at 4:34 A.M., by Constable Daniel Castle, of the Lawrence County Constable Office-District 4, and Constable Paul Wells, of the Lawrence County Constable Office-District 1, and was charged with:
• SERVING WARRANT (FOR OTHER POLICE AGENCY),
• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE),

Lisa Bunch, 46, of Girdler, Kentucky; was arrested on September 16, 2019, at 4:34 A.M., by Constable Daniel Castle, of the Lawrence County Constable Office-District 4, and Constable Paul Wells, of the Lawrence County Constable Office-District 1, and was charged with:
• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE),
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS,

Holly D. Johnson, 41, of Webbville, Kentucky; was arrested on September 16, 2019, at 4:42 A.M., by Constable Daniel Castle, of the Lawrence County Constable Office-District 3, and Constable Paul Wells, of the Lawrence County Constable Office-District 1, and was charged with:
• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE),

Mark Baskin, 47, of Corbin, Kentucky; was arrested on September 16, 2019, at 4:43 A.M., by Constable Daniel Castle, of the Lawrence County Constable Office-District 3, and Constable Paul Wells, of the Lawrence County Constable Office-District 1, and was charged with:
• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE),

Kelly R. Cole, 45, of Stanford, Kentucky; was taken into custody on September 18, 2019, at 3:34 P.M., by deputy Mullins, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence:
• CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER (2 SEPARATE CHARGES COUNTS).
Toni M. Anderson, 36, of Portsmouth, Ohio; was arrested on September 19, 2019, at 6:48 A.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:
• SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT,
• RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER/$10,000.
According to the arrest citation, at 3:01 A.M., officer Hunter James received a call from John Rice that Toni Anderson, along with two other individuals, had stolen his truck. While officer James was en route to the lake on Route 3 North, officer James passed the reported stolen vehicle, which Ms. Anderson was a passenger in the vehicle, and he assisted deputy Dwayne Bowen and Constable Paul Wells, with the stop
Joseph Lee Berry, 36, of Genoa, West Virginia; was arrested on September 19, 2019, at 7:15 A.M., by deputy Dwayne Bowen, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER/$10,000,
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE),
• NO OPERATORS-MOPED LICENSE.
According to the arrest citation, at 3:01 A.M., Lawrence County deputy Dwayne Bowen received a complaint from John Rice that John Berry along with two others had stolen his truck and had left him at the lake. As deputy Bowen was heading to the area to get further information, Bowen passed the reported stolen truck on Route 3 North. After stopping the truck, deputy Bowen stated that Joseph Bowen told him that John Rice gave him the truck so that Berry could go get more cigarettes. Upon checking Berry’s status, deputy Bowen found he did not have a license. Joseph Berry was found with an envelope containing a white crystal like substance in Berry’s left shirt pocket.
John Lee Rice, 61, of Louisa, was arrested on September 19,2019, at 7:21 A.M.,by deputy Dwayne Bowen, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE).
According the arrest citation by deputy Dwayne Bowen, John Rice, who reported his truck stolen, arrived to retrieve his truck, and that Rice was carrying a flashlight that was not working. When officers checked to see why it was not working, the officers found meth inside the flashlight.
William James Irby III, 52, of Wytheville, Virginia; was arrested on September 19, 2019, at 7:36 A.M., by deputy Dwayne Bowen, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER/$10,000.
According to the arrest citation, at 3:01 A.M., deputy Dwayne Bowen, received a call from John Rice that William James Irby, along with two other individuals, had stolen his truck. While deputy Bowen was en route to the lake on Route 3 North, deputy Bowen passed the reported stolen vehicle, which Mr. Irby was a passenger in the vehicle, in which deputy Bowen conducted the stop of the truck.
Shana Newsome, 25, of Louisa, was arrested on September 19, 2019, at 4:44 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE),
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS,
• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE-(> OR=20 BUT < OR=120 D.U. DRUG UNSPECIFIED).

Holly King, 34, of Louisa, was arrested in Bourbon County, Ky. on September 15, 2019, at 7:40 P.M., by a deputy of the Bourbon County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.
James L. Cook, 34, of Louisa, was arrested in Boyd County, Ky. on September 16, 2019, at 5:10 P.M., by an officer of the Kentucky Department of Corrections Division-PROBATION AND PAROLE / BOYD COUNTY, and was charged with:
• SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.
Joseph C. Chapman Jr., 56, of Louisa, was arrested in Boyd County, Ky. on September 16, 2019, at 9:15 P.M., by deputy Mark Wheeler, of the Boyd County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE,
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 2ND DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED,
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE),

Eva Marcum, 56, of Fort Gay, West Virginia; was arrested in Pike County, Ky. on September 17, 2019, at 9:00 A.M., by deputy Ray, of the Pike County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• PUBLIC INTOXICATION,
• CONTEMPT OF COURT (LAWRENCE COUNTY) $193 FINES OR $50 DAY BY ORDER OF LAWRENCE JUDGE JOHN CHAFIN.
